More upmarket features (e.g. RailCom, USP, S.U.S.I.) have been omitted to facilitate the design of a more low-cost, easy-to-install decoder. The Silver decoder is equipped on one side only, making for an extremely flat design that facilitates installation considerably. Silver Direct comes with 8 embedded NMRA pins (NEM652) for easy drop in installation. Except for RailCom, USP and S.U.S.I., the Silver decoder has all other Gold features, such as ABC or thermal overload and short-circuit protection.
