BRAWA 45751 DB 2nd class coach with Post section Bpostdi21 in green
(HO scale) Second class coach with Postal compartment type Bpostid21 of the German Deutsche Bundesbahn DB in green livery. The Deutsche Reichsbahn workshop in Karlsruhe installed a post compartment in 5 of the Cid 21 construction type carriages in 1930. These Cposti 21s appear to have proved their worth, as another 30 carriages were converted in 1934. Thereby, half of the carriage was compartmented and was modified accordingly for the post carriage. There were no front doors on the post side as passage through the post carriage or post compartments by passengers and also by railway staff was prohibited.
