BRAWA 2445 DB 1st class coach 13986 in green
(HO scale) Four axle first class coach type A4 13986 of the German Deutsche Bundesbahn DB in green livery. At one time, the Deutsche Bahn operated a great many Prussian-type express train coaches. They were indispensable in the years after the Second World War, when there were express trains that consisted solely of old Prussian-type coaches. These coaches were modified to satisfy the new requirements. They were fitted with electrical systems and the steps underneath the windows were removed. The coaches remained in service when the new passenger class system was introduced in 1956. All the former AB and B coaches were used as first-class coaches and the former C coaches were redesignated as second-class coaches. They did not disappear from the railways until the Deutsche Bahn implemented its conversion programme. However, their bogies, buffers and several other parts remained in use in the converted vehicles. Epoch III, full interiors, NEM couplers, length: 235mm.
